House is Pain - October 31, 2011
There is an old saying that goes “Pain if fear leaving your body.” I’ve also seen it with the word “weakness” replacing the word fear. Both are really cool, and to a certain degree motivational, but I’ve got a better one for those working out in my camp …
“Pain is House entering your body.”
You see, everyone wants a strong body, a lean body, and sculpted body and an appealing body. But few people really want to put the work into routine and programs needed to get what they want … Here is where you ask the question “Why?”.
“Why, House?”
Great question … because people are afraid of the pain associated with doing what is necessary to get strong, lean, sculpted and appealing. They are afraid of the sore muscles, burning lungs, the sacrifices and the dedication of time. Simply put, they are afraid.
It is amazing the way people believe that by visiting a doctor they can lose 50 lbs and have that incredible body, without changing their eating and exercise habits. So many times you see these women wearing a size 14, or a man with a 42” waist, electing to go under the knife to achieve the body they want. Whether it is the “lap band,” Liposuction, or some other procedure, they want the results without putting in the work or changing their habits. Do they even realize that they are going to have pain either way (working out of surgery), but that any surgical procedure is far more risky than any workout routine … and it will do wonders for both your body and mind?
Folks, let me scream something at you. I LOVE PAIN. Pain is an amazing thing. It means you are doing the work and you are going to achieve your goals. It means you are heading in the right direction without taking short cuts, without endangering your health, and while making your body strong. You can’t go from a size 14 to a size 4 without changing your routine and working out. You can’t go from a 42” waist to a 34” waist without changing your diet and working out. Those in shape don’t stumble upon it accidentally. Pain is the reminder of where you are and where you want to go.
Pain will eventually be replaced by soreness. Soreness will be replaced by fatigue. Fatigue will be replaced by exhilaration. You spend 12 weeks with me, you will experience pain and lots of it. But the pain will turn to soreness and then fatigue. But, somewhere around week 10, you will look in the mirror and wonder who is staring back at you. You will get into your jeans and not worry about buttoning them … in fact, you will be looking for a belt. People will be staring at you when you walk in the office and coffee shop and saying to themselves “Damn, they look good.”
Know what, this is when exhilaration will set in. Not only will you look good, but you will feel good and you will have earned this body. While your spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend might be thrilled to have your amazing body close to them, I promise you that you will feel the best of all. No shortcuts taken.
So, are a few weeks of pain, a few weeks of soreness and a few weeks of fatigue worth this feeling? You bet your ass.
Come work out with House Strength Camp. Call and set up a free workout evaluation. Hear about the camp and my program. It is worth your time, I promise you. Or, go on failing in all your “other” programs, surgeries and fad diets. They never work and rarely get you anywhere.
Remember, HOUSE IS PAIN … PAIN IS GOOD. Learn to love pain like I do … as pain is the sign of achievement.
